Shipping container homes to help earthquake survivors
The shipping containers helping earthquake survivors
Shipping containers are used for many purposes far beyond just storing goods. Although this may sound odd at first glance shipping containers really are used for so many different projects ranging from shops, homes, bars and more. Shipping containers can even be used to help those in need and that is exactly what Mexican architect Maria Gomez has done. Following the tragic and awful 7.1 magnitude earthquake that struck Mexico in 2017 Maria has used shipping containers to help those in need.
Homes were made out of shipping containers to accommodate those in need following the aftermath of the earthquake with each container home comprising of a kitchen, living room, dining room, bathroom and bedrooms and each shares a patio. The container homes have allowed local people in need to live in a safe, clean and protected environment and show us all just what you can with a shipping container.
