Gap Container Services Ltd is proud to announce that we are part of the governments Apprenticeship Scheme. The scheme is a government funded program whereby young people, aged 16 and over, can work for a full year in a half occupation, half study role with which they are paid.Apprenticeships combine practical training in a job with study. An apprentice:
- works alongside experienced staff
- gains job-specific skills
- earns a wage
- studies towards a related qualification (usually 1 day a week)
Our first apprentice, Lauren Broomfield, has been apart of the scheme for the past couple of years. She started in May 2012 and has progressed on to become a full time member of staff. Lauren is on to her Level 3 Business Course NVQ (National Vocational Qualification) and is on the Advanced Apprenticeship level which is equivalent to 2 A level’s. She has learnt a great deal in her 2 years with Gap from dealing with customers, making payments, producing sales & phone skills.
