Shipping containers to be converted into pop up food stalls and shops for Norwich City Council project

Following the success of pop up shopping areas in London with Boxpark Shoreditch and Croydon and Pop Brixton, that all utilise converted shipping containers into pop up shops to the public, other projects have been conceived across the country to achieve a similar outcome. It may seem odd at first glance that shipping containers can be used such a daring and innovative project as they are large metal containers designed to ship and store goods globally however a look into such projects as Boxpark and Pop Brixton will show you just how elaborate the shipping container is.

Norwich City Council has produced plans for a project to utilise shipping containers for pop up food stalls and shops in Norwich. The pop up shipping container area will be set up beneath the Norwich flyover and has hence been given the project name of ‘Under The Flyover’. The plan is to utilise 18 shipping containers to be converted into the food stalls and shops which will be situated near Anglia Square. The pop up shipping containers will allow a creative space for the local area and shows us all just how creatively you can use shipping containers.
